| "Lucky" the Grouper was caught off Sombrero Reef and put on ice until he reached the dock. Originally intended for dinner, "Lucky" was still alive when fishing mate, Dallas Tisdale, plucked him from the cooler and plopped him on the cleaning table. Dallas respected "Luckys" stamina so he spared the fillet knife and introduced him to the bait tank. "Lucky" lived happily in the tank for almost a week swimming among pinfish, shrimp and crabs. When Marathon councilman, John Bartus (center), showed up for a fun fishing trip with Capt. Johnny Maddox (right) Dallas decided it was time to let "Lucky" go. It Even though "Lucky" seemed unimpressed by the councilmans presence, Dallas thought he saw him wave his tail goodbye as he disappeared under the dock. Good luck "Lucky." | |
